Early Music All-Stars Messiah Singalong
|
Ars Musica with Vox Fidelis and La Fiocco Julianne Baird, soprano Nicholas Tamagna, countertenor Matthew Oltman, tenor Curtis Streetman, bass
“Early Music All-Stars” is no exaggeration! If anyone is the doyenne of the Early Music scene, it is Julianne Baird. She will scatter her delectable ornamentation over the soprano arias of Handel’s Messiah in Ars Musica’s unique presentation. Building a beautiful vocal quartet with her will be Nicholas Tamagna, countertenor; Matthew Oltman, tenor; and Curtis Streetman, bass, all of whom are stars in their own right. Supporting the stellar singers is the instrumental ensembles La Fiocco bringing with them instruments Handel would have approved of, including twin harpsichords. The dazzling chamber choir Vox Fidelis will supplement the 60+ voices of Ars Musica, and will be featured in several of the more virtuosic movements of this All-Stars Messiah.
And capping it all will be…
…You… in the audience: if you can read music (and English), you can have a score and sing along in the choruses. Maestro Crandell will give a quick refresher course in decoding musical notation, and it will all come back to you. Join Ars Musica for this exciting and unusual way to celebrate the season of joy!
