The world concert premiere of the English concertina (a.k.a. the “air viol”) substituting as a treble viol in repertoire of the Elizabethan and Jacobean periods, featuring spritely English country dances, and consort music of Orlando Gibbons, William Lawes, and their contemporaries.

Midtown Concerts sponsors lunchtime performances of music of the 18th century and earlier for anyone seeking a respite from the midtown hustle and bustle. Ensembles are chosen by a jury of early-music specialists from the metropolitan area.
