200 Paul Shipper 3.5in Paul Shipper, bass
Dabiel Swenberg, theorbo
Grant Herreid, theorbo
Dongsok Shin, organ, harpsichord

A recital of virtuoso arias and motets for low bass from 17th century Italy, ranging from the obscure to the unknown. Many of them virtually unrecorded and a few possibly not performed in 300+ years. Most of them are fairly lengthy, and feature extreme ranges and reams of coloratura. As you might expect from the instrumentalists, lots of improvisation will ensue. Even though the program seems serious (and it is), it's more fun than it might appear at first blush, with some tongue in cheek and slyly comic sections
