A Celebration of Sacred German Music

Sinfonia Praetorius is the community ensemble-in-residence at Immanuel Lutheran Church, formed by co-leaders Gwendolyn Toth and James Miller. The ensemble performs music from the vast repertoire of sacred German literature from the time of Luther through to the high baroque and Bach. Both professional and talented amateurs form the chorus of 35 and instrumental ensemble of 20 including cornettos, recorders, sacbuts, dulcians, strings, lutes, and keyboards (period instruments).
The repertoire for this concert will include: Pachelbel – Nun Danket Alle Gott Schutz – Dank Sagen Wir Isaac – O Esca Viatorum Senfl – Das Glaut zu Speyer Walter – Ein Feste Burg Schein – Was Betrubst Scheidt – Surrexit Christus Praetorius – Wir Glauben plus additional vocal solos by Luther and Schutz & instrumental music by Schein.
