Gavin Black will play a selection of movements from The Art of the Fugue, chosen to make a coherent overall arc, amounting to a bit less than half of the entire work. He will perform on a Keith Hill German double-manual harpsichord.
Gavin Black ~ harpsichord
Gavin Black is Director of the Princeton Early Keyboard Center in Princeton, New Jersey. He has performed and recorded on organ, harpsichord, and clavichord over the last thirty-five years, specializing in Bach and music of the 17th century. He has recorded The Art of the Fugue in a version for two harpsichords with George Hazelrigg, and his forthcoming recording is music of Frescobaldi played on a 17th century Italian harpsichord.
