In 2012 GEMS presented Michael (pictured at right) with our first "Gemini" award, honoring him for his decades of dedication to early music and chamber music.

Read Waverly Consort member Rosamund Morley's remembrance here, and The New York Times obituary here, as well as a memorial article here. We can't say it better than Ros: "his contributions to the development of early music in America are incalculable, and he will be sorely missed."
