Blaser Band collage webAs the artistry and skills of both players and makers of wind instruments in Europe improved during the late 18th century, composers discovered the new timbres and techniques available to them. A rich body of original and arranged Harmonie Music flourished thanks to Mozart, Beethoven, and their contemporaries.

Bläser Band is devoted to Harmonie Music and sharing this extraordinary, rarely heard repertory with our audiences. Members play in Tafelmusik, Handel and Haydn Society, Philharmonia Baroque, Opera Lafayette, American Classical Orchestra, Trinity Wall Street, Apollo’s Fire, and Portland Baroque.

Midtown Concerts sponsors lunchtime performances of music of the 18th century and earlier. Ensembles are chosen by a panel of early music specialists from the metropolitan area.
