Strictly Organic: transcriptions of organ trios by J.S. Bach and J.L. Krebs

EmpireViolsphoto

Empire Viols explores the organ trio repertoire in this unique program. Two viols and harpsichord take the three lines of these works, providing a new and lovely expressiveness. The composers featured are the master of the form Johann Sebastian Bach and his virtuoso student Johann Ludwig Krebs.

Founded in 1994, Empire Viols has focused on the rich repertoire for two viols and harpsichord, while expanding its programs through daring and adventurous transcriptions.
