"Maîtres du clavecin"

Please join us as we welcome harpsichordist Kevin C. Devine to the series. 

 

Talented multi-instrumentalist Kevin Devine has performed on the harpsichord from coast to coast. His early music ensemble bro/\dside made their debut in September 2017 at the Pioneer Valley Early Music Day festival in western Massachusetts. Mr. Devine devine harpsichord colorhas obtained degrees from San Francisco State University, Boston University, and is currently a candidate for the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Stony Brook University.
    As a harpsichordist, he is a sought after collaborator and soloist. He has just been engaged to do a recital tribute to Scott Ross on the Berkeley-based MusicSources concert series for the coming season. As a hurdy-gurdy player, he explores the breadth of the repertoire for the instrument, from Hildegard von Bingen to 18th-century sonatas written by the French virtuosos.
       He currently resides in Brooklyn where he works as organist and choir director at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sunset Park, teaches music theory and keyboard, and tunes and maintains historical keyboards. He is an avid chef and baker and spends lots of quality time with his house dog, Bishop.

Midtown Concerts sponsors lunchtime performances of music of the 18th century and earlier. Ensembles are chosen by a panel of early music specialists from the metropolitan area.
