Handel in Italy

The Choir of St. Luke in the Fields, directed by David Shuler, with the Baroque in the Fields Orchestra, presents two major choral works composed by Handel during his four years in Rome — the dramatic and virtuosic Dixit Dominus and Laudate pueri. While in Rome, Handel encountered Arcangelo Corelli who had a profound impact on Handel’s instrumental music. The concert includes Corelli’s Concerto Grosso No. 7 in D Major.
