Join the Cramer Quartet for the third event of the ensemble’s 2026 residency, featuring the world premiere of Leilehua Lanzilotti’s in the garden, written in response to Haydn’s Op. 77 No. 2. Drawing on the gardens of Eisenstadt and the courtyard of the Haydnhaus — where Op. 77 No. 2 was composed — the work reflects on Haydn’s musical world through shifting “cellular” motifs, imagined as patterns shaped by light, wind, and birdsong. In dialogue with Caroline Shaw’s Entr’acte, it explores the ways in which Haydn’s ideas continue to transform, resonate, and bloom across time.
