Letters to a Young Poet

This intimate union of Ravel and Rilke invites us into the Paris of 1903, when two masterpieces were written just miles away at the same moment of La Belle Époque. Rilke’s famous correspondence with aspiring poet Franz Kappus was re-examined in 2020, when all of Kappus’ letters to Rilke were unexpectedly found. Rilke’s mentorship is mirrored by Debussy’s influence on Ravel — presenting four artists intertwined in a unique union of music and text. Celebrating the 150th anniversaries of both Ravel and Rilke.
