Circle of Life
Timeless themes resonate when spectacular soprano Ah Young Hong, known for her “expressive intensity and fervor” (The New York Times) joins House of Time to weave a rich musical tapestry following the course of a woman’s life in a program called Circle of Life. Childbirth, adolescent pangs of love, marriage, the wisdom of old age, and the end of life are all vividly depicted through music by Biber, Strozzi, Purcell, Handel, and Bach. This program brings Baroque music closer to our lived experience illuminating subjects that speak to us as vividly as they did to audiences of the past.
