Mexamorphosis is a dynamic intercultural project that brings together traditional musical styles including early music from around the world, with improvisation and, when possible, dance. Featuring a rotating cast of global artists, it fosters cultural dialogue by highlighting shared roots and collective narratives. Mexamorphosis creates a participatory space where diverse traditions coexist, offering audiences an immersive musical experience.
Led by mezzo-soprano, founder, and artistic director Guadalupe Peraza, Mexamorphosis offers a unique lens through music to explore artistic expression across time. Awarded by the New York State Council on the Arts (2024 and 2026) and the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (2025), Mexamorphosis highlights underrepresented musical traditions bringing together artists, audiences, and cultures through immersive performances.
