A one-hour distillation of Handel’s Tolomeo from 1728, presented for free in New York City neighborhoods over two weekends this May. This saga of longing for a lost (or new) love, and its accompanying harsh jealousy, unfolds in bittersweet beauty, one ravishing aria after another. Obsession, Poisoning, Betrayal… What’s in store for the hounded Seleuce or the wretched Tolomeo?
