The Divine Josquin ~ Missa de Beata Virgine & Motets
Franco-Flemish composer Josquin des Prez was a key figure among the great musical artists of the 16th century. His innovations laid the groundwork for the complex imitative polyphony that influenced later composers including Gombert, Clemens non Papa, Manchicourt, and Palestrina. He served various patrons throughout his career, with his most prestigious appointment as a member of the illustrious Sistine Chapel.
