Madrigals, solos, duets, and trios from two early 17th-century Italian masters, Michelangelo Rossi and Biagio Marini. Rossi's madrigals surpass even those of Gesualdo in their chromatic, sumptuous complexity, and Marini's miniatures are the composer's answer to Monteverdi's Book 7. Presented with a hint of 1950s Italy! Candlelit cabaret tables and complimentary Italian aperitifs featuring Martini & Rossi rosso.

With Laurie Heimes, soprano; Barbara Hollinshead, mezzo-soprano; Andrew Fuchs, tenor; Jacob Perry, tenor; Peter Becker, bass-baritone; Daniel Swenberg, theorbo; and Gwendolyn Toth, harpsichord/director.
