Description

A path to Francois Couperin's First Ordre

Francois Couperin in his four books of harpsichord works represents the pinnacle of beauty and mastery of his instrument. His first book, published when he was forty, is a compilation of works written over a period of 20 years and includes music in the style of grand Baroque as well as works that chart out the new and delicate rococo sensibilities. This recital will include some works of d'Anglerbert and Gaspard Le Roux as well as a selection of pieces from the first ordre.
