Midtown Concerts Capital Campaign
Thanks to you, we are ready to upgrade our live stream gear!
GEMS has streamed over 175 of our Midtown Concerts on YouTube, to the delight of patrons who could not otherwise experience a live concert due to health, time, or economic constraints, and those living outside New York City. We receive live “chat” comments from viewers throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, and South America.
Our first stream, during COVID, was done in the artists’ apartment with a single iPhone providing the audio and video! We have since come a very long way, gradually adding more sophisticated cameras, microphones, control panels, and lighting gear.
We are at an “inflection point” now, where the popularity of our streams and the sophistication of our global audience demand more, and so we have put together a “wish list” of upgrades and new equipment that will up our game considerably.
These include:
- new cameras (we like the Panasonic GH series)
- a complete set of sophisticated auto-focus zoom lenses (fuzzy or late focus on zooms has bedeviled us for quite a while)
- a new video switcher (ATEM Extreme ISO) that will give us more power for video editing when necessary
- replacing our trusty laptop which monitors the stream (it’s on its last legs)
- and miscellaneous accessories
The wish list comes to approximately $25,000. Thanks to you, we’ve exceeded our goal!
