BALAM Dance Theatre (BALAM), inspired by the opulence and theatricality of Balinese theatre, was founded in 1979 by choreographer, educator, and movement analyst Islene Pinder. Midtown Concerts sponsors lunchtime performances of music of the 18th century and earlier. Ensembles are chosen by a panel of early music specialists from the metropolitan area.
