Description

St Ignatius 150Featuring performances by TENET Vocal Artists, ARTEK, Polyhymnia, and the Choir of Saint Ignatius of Antioch

We are pleased to present this celebration of early music in commemoration of the Sesquicentennial of Saint Ignatius of Antioch. Since our foundation, music has been at the centre of our mission, and for the last fifty years we have opened our doors to New York’s early music ensembles as a venue for rehearsal and performance. These performances, in collaboration with the ensembles, are our gift to the community in thanksgiving for 150 years of music and ministry.

The Choir of Saint Ignatius of Antioch presents works by Ockeghem, Palestrina, Porterfield, Tallis, and Tompkins; ARTEK presents The Sacred Music of Alessandro Grandi (1590–1630); TENET Vocal Artists presents works by Blow, Purcell, Schutz, and Couperin; and Polyhymnia presents Passionate Kisses – Music of Earthly and Divine Love: Motet Settings of the Song of Songs.

Saturday, May 21 at 7 pm (The Choir of Saint Ignatius of Antioch & ARTEK)
Sunday, May 22 at 4 pm (TENET Vocal Artists & Polyhymnia)

Admission: Free to the public; donations accepted at the door
