Rosmenes Choice Artwork Square with TitleRosmene’s Choice

A 70-minute distillation of Handel’s practically unknown Imeneo from 1742. Contrasting opera’s usually expensive and exclusive productions, Opera Essentia offers performances free of charge in neighborhoods which lack centers for the Arts. Handel perfectly conveys character and emotion through deeply expressive writing for the human voice, here woven into an intimate sound chronicle which all can enjoy. Rosmene’s Choice reveals one woman’s struggle with her impossible situation. Hounded on all sides, she must choose between being faithful or grateful. Unwilling to reject one of her obsessed suitors, will Rosmene follow the path of Love or Duty?
