Music of the English Virginalists.

Elena Z Zuckermann Harpsichords 2015 croppedMusic of the late Renaissance English composers, now known as English Virginalists. The virginal, a small harpsichord, was a very popular keyboard instrument of the time in England. 

Elena Zamolodchikova, harpsichord (virginal)

Dr. Elena Zamolodchikova specialized in historical keyboard performance at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, the Juilliard School and Stony Brook University. She has performed in Russia, the U.S., Italy, Germany, and Norway, collaborating with such prominent early music colleagues as
William Christie, Christopher Hogwood, Monica Huggett, and Nicholas McGegan.

Midtown Concerts sponsors lunchtime performances of music of the 18th century and earlier. Ensembles are chosen by a panel of early-music specialists from the metropolitan area.
