The New York Classical Quartet play the first and last of Boccherini's 90 string quartets: Op. 2, no. 1 in C minor from 1761 (probably predating Haydn's first), and Op. 64, no. 1 in F from 1805 (by which time Haydn had ceased composing.) Piquant, droll, tragic, languid, heroic, and festive are just some of the adjectives describing this irresistible, unjustly neglected music.

The New York Classical Quartet is in residence at the Church of the Transfiguration (the “Little Church around the Corner”) in New York City. Founded in 2013, the quartet has given performances for the Friends of Mozart, at the Church of the Good Shepherd, and Midtown Concerts in New York City; at the King Manor in Queens, NY; and has had return engagements at Museum Concerts in Providence, RI, and at the LaGrua Center in Stonington, CT.
