Midtown Concerts presents Gaia Saetermoe-Howard, Sarah Stone & Kevin Devine

Description

Folk Dialogues

Gaia Saetermoe-Howard ~ oboe and recorders
Sarah Stone ~ cello
Kevin Devine ~ harpsichord

In this recital, historical oboist and recorder player Gaia Saetermoe-Howard and continuo team Sarah Stone and Dr. Kevin Devine explore folk-influenced Baroque music from South America and Northern Europe. The featured composers incorporated folk idioms from their cultures into each of these works, and in doing so, sparked a dialogue between the concert hall and the bandstand
